What to make of this

Ex husband to be, separated a few years, living apart finally and officially has just quit his job as he cannot cope with the separation.

I am a professional but have been primary parent and sahm mum for last year as had no childcare. I am currently looking for a good position to start just after son starts school.

I feel like he has pulled the rug from under me (and kids) just as I am trying to find my feet. Is that fair of me to feel that way?

Yes fair but you already know you cant rely on him to provide for you anymore so you'll adapt, sort out a solution and move forward

pubertyalloveragain · 31/07/2024 23:53

As a family we have gone through enough, his timing is woeful and he knows it. I see it as so selfish.

Totally agree.. he's banged the final nail in the coffin of your marriage by pulling this shit now i'm sure.
All you have to think about now is you and the children, full lioness survival mode required now. Pull it out the bag, you can totally do this.

Balls to him and his dramas

I am finding it so hard to adapt. I feel so isolated.

Thank you. I was so god damn capable and optimistic in life before I met him. I am CRAVING to feel that way again but I just can't see opportunity right now, it's like I'm blind.

Lioness survival mode will be written in my bathroom mirror right now.

I just need some support. I have been compassionate during this whole process and he has pulled every stunt to trip me up and slow me down.

This is the start of the rest of your life.
Draw strength from the kids. Get whatever you can out of him and get him everything you can as a registered single parent.
Look on total jobs, get your linked in profile sorted. They're crying out for nursery staff everywhere right now,

If there was a heart button I'd press it ❤️

He's quit his job because he can't cope ?
Is this a tactic for claiming in the financial settlement.

That's what I thought too.

But wondered was I being too cynical.

Go with your gut feeling, it's usually right.

Did he ever tell you that you were a problem?

pubertyalloveragain · 01/08/2024 09:36

In what way? No I don't think so

OP posts:
Seaoftroubles · 01/08/2024 09:41

Don't fall for his dramas, it sounds like he's trying to manipulate you into taking him back. Or hoping to get out of paying his share for the children. Stay strong OP!

It happens. I was the one pushing my ex to get a move on with the settlement - no rush from her until she got offered a better paying job then she was chasing me every day to get it done. Normal behaviour - who wants to give away more than they need to.

pubertyalloveragain · 01/08/2024 18:17

That's shitty to me.

Yes, I would suspect a financial reason. What a piece of shit he is.

Expect the worst from now on and you won’t be disappointed.
