Hi, im just looking at someone that can point me in the right direction or give me some advice, I’m desperate to leave my partner but I don’t know where to start and I feel so trapped.

I have a DD age 4 and I need a way out of this relationship it’s so toxic.

TIA

I don't think you're going to find any Family Lawyers on here but you should go and see one. You are entitled to a 30min free consult. They will be able to give you the low down on what you might be entitled to/what you can do etc - without going into your own personal circumstances. That will cost.
Without any further info it's hard to give any guidance.
Are you living in his house or yours?
Rented, social or private?
Owned jointly?
Is the child his?
Is there anywhere else you can stay, friends, family?
Do you work?

You can find out about benefits you may be entitled to at https://www.entitledto.co.uk/

Good luck. x

Check what benefit entitlement you are entitled to. The entitledto benefits calculator will check which means-tested benefits you may be entitled to e.g. tax credits, universal credit, housing benefit …

There are some excellent family lawyers in the Legal Matters part of Mumsnet.

You are not 'entitled' to 30 mins of free advice. Some solicitors offer a short free chat to establish whether they can help you.

who do you think provides a 30 minute free consult? You are not entitled to any thing. I dont think it is helpful to provide misinformation like this

Thank you all for the reply. I have looked at what I’m entitled too etc, however, I just do not know how to start the process. I don’t have friends or family to stay with at the minute and I know that he won’t go and stay with his dad (who has the room).
