Sex feeling different after baby??

Laalaalala · 01/07/2024 10:57

had a baby about 1.5 years ago. Now when we have sex sometimes it feels like it is hitting Something inside at the top and it doesn’t feel nice.

I know bodies change after a baby etc but I just don’t know if this is normal. The only way I can describe it is it’s like he it hitting the top inside and it hurts. It doesn’t happen all the time but just sometimes. Now my partner isn’t huge so it’s not that and it never happened before either.

Could it be a prolapse? I have one and it feels like this. Have you asked your partner if he feels anything different?

Laalaalala · 01/07/2024 11:33

@womanofleaf yes he feels it too. Never thought of a prolapse to be honest. What should I do? Speak to the doctor? Is there something they can do or do I just leave it? Thanks

I have this, I thought my cervix was just lower now, didn't realise it could be a prolapse

@Laalaalala Well it would be useful to know what kind of prolapse (there are 3 different types) and GPs are not very good at diagnosing them, but they should be able to refer you to either pelvic floor physio or straight to gynaecologist.

In the meantime, avoid running or lifting heavy things, and do pelvic floor exercises.

@Cas112 Yeah the cervix can be lower after having a child. Some doctors do not even class it as a prolapse unless it reaches the entrance, but some class it as any type of dropping into the vaginal canal as a prolapse.
