How soon is too soon to say you are falling in love with someone

I’ve been dating in a relationship with a guy coming up 4 months- we hit it off pretty quickly and he said he wanted me to be exclusive and then his girlfriend fairly early on into things (no love bombing). It’s progressed at a natural pace and when we’ve felt things we have just gone with it. We see each other once-twice a week usually sometimes more depending on our childcare as we have children individually. Things are great, so great in fact that I’ve fully fallen for him and starting to get incredibly strong feelings for him. When is to soon to the say the L Word I don’t want to scare him off? Or should I let him take the lead with this one - I don’t want anything to mess this up as he is amazing!

It's the way of the world. Also see my post above.

4 months is OK to mention the L word! But the man should say it first.

Why should the man say it first??????

Ridiculous and pointless values.

We told each other within a week. It was so clear it was the right thing. That was 25 years ago.

Brilliant. Lucky you!

Whoever says it first gives power away in the dynamic of the relationship, hence the woman doesnt want to say it first.

Maybe the woman has more power in the dynamic of the relationship? It seems weird to assume she never does because of her sex.

I've been with my boyfriend six weeks and we've said it this weekend. He said it first but I realised about a week ago that I loved him. I don't see the point in fannying about if that's how you feel.
