I met most of my friends when I was a teenager, clubbing in London.
We are all still friends so almost 40 yrs later. A couple were my bridesmaids and ushers.
We've grown up together and have managed to still stay close despite my divorce (all friends are still friends with my ex and me).
Is this the norm?

My adult kids have been brought up with theirs and they're close friends.
We speak often and meet up at least once a month.
My daughter treats my best friends house as her second home as the girls are best friends.

Yes, you’re lucky. I’m similarly lucky and also have close friends from my teenage years (as well as more recent periods). I’m 54. It makes me wonder whether it’s in part a result of growing up in the 1970s and 80s when there were fewer forms of entertainment and distraction available so we spent more of our time just hanging out with our friends.

I grew up then.

Indidnt want to stay friends with my school friends though. I was so unlike them. I couldn’t wait to move on.

Have kept in touch with university friends though.

Yes that's really good. I think there is such value in having people who have always known you.

My best friends are from University and school, one a neighbour I met when I was 33. I'm 58. All my other friends are from work.

I've made 2 really good friends in the last couple of years. I think it's hard to make real friends as you get older.

Humble brag, @sawnotseen 😂😂. It’s great, well done. Also great if people aren’t still friends with school chums. Also great if people have a mixture 🤷‍♀️

I have a couple of close friends I've known since before we started primary school as we lived next to each other, so that's a friendship of around 57 years. We meet up regularly, sometimes with our DHs.I have another close friend whom I've known since we started secondary school,so that's 50 yrs and I've still got a close friendship group from work colleagues I've known for over 40 yrs.
