Abusive ex

So me and my ex were together for 13 years we had our ups and downs we decided to split up in march. He decided to leave and go stay somewhere else leaving me with the 2 girls. 2 weeks ago we found out he had moved a girl into where he was staying so he got kicked out he called the police claiming she beat him up and was sending him threatening messages etc.

so when all that happened I noticed his jaw was swinging he looked off his face tbh so I ordered a drug test and it came back positive for cocaine and mdma. It was agreed he would take a test twice a week if he wants the girls and has since been negative apart from today his opiate test came back positive. He rang me 2 days ago saying his doctor was prescribing him some tablets and they would show up the opiates. Is he trying to trick me I’m trying to research but nothings coming up?

thanks for reading x

The only way you will know if he's telling you the truth or not is for him to show you the medication, with a printed label on the box dispensed in his name, and check if the medication is opioid based

It's incredibly difficult to get opiods from a doctor as they are so addictive. So if the doctor knew he had a recreational drug problem, he would absolutely not be prescribed opiods. Is he in serious pain? What has he said is the reason for this prescription?

Personally I would be wanting to protect my daughter from the potential harm while in the sole care of their father. He may not at present see anything wrong in his lifestyle, and perhaps even think you are OTT and everyone else who is wanting to "interfere" him having contact with DD.

I have experience of this and will say that he is most likely saying whatever he feels you may believe, if he is not seeking help for his addiction, and trying to stop his lifestyle he is living, having kids in that scenario is going to have consequences later on in their lives.

Go with your gut, and any abuse coming from him, log it, report it, and stay consistent with protecting DDs.

He says it’s antidepressants he rang me 2 days ago and didn’t really make sense of what he was saying it just sounded like excuses to me really. I will talk to him next week about it ask to see the box and the tablets. X
