Married life is so dull and lonely

I had no idea what I was getting into.

Leaves for work at 7am, returns from work at 7pm, then working on laptop until the small hours. Children solely my responsibility so I don’t get a break. I’m resentful and fed up.

This sounds very hard. Married life can be terrific but unfortunately you have a very neglectful partner who is hiding behind work instead of parenting. Does he know how you’re feeling? How does he respond when you try to talk to him?

That sounds hard. Dh has a full on job but he helps put kids to bed, then we spend a hour or so together. Plus weekends we split everything.

Do you go out together on a weekend? Does he take his turn

Yikes! I'm sorry. That doesn't sound like a partnership.

Have you talked to him, told him how you are feeling?

There is no feeling worse than feeling lonely & alone in your marriage

Well to be fair, he’s hardly being lazy is he.
He does need to spend time as a family.
Is his work load necessary?
Could it be reduced in any way?
Could he change jobs?
How would it affect you financially?
Could weekends be left entirely free for family time while understanding that work has to be done in the week?
Could you assist him in any way with his work on the laptop while he puts the kids to bed and spends some time with them?
