Dh has a bit of a temper. I know he would never lay a finger on me.

He used to be very angry when he was younger and at school. If he gets stressed or tired he can get angry and we'll have an argument.

He has made an appointment to see the doctor for tomorrow afternoon. I am a bit worried they wont be able to help.

We love each other very much and our ds is the light of our life and we are ttc number 2.

Will the doctor be able to help him?

I believe that it really depends where you are in the country and what the local policy is.
I know in Scotland the chance of seeing a counsellor on the nhs is very small.
Sometimes the best way is to find a private counsellor (via yellow pages or similar) and pay if that is an option.
Your dh is taking a very positive step in asking for help. Good Luck

We cant afford a counsellor, we've looked into it.

We're in North Yorkshire so I'm hoping they'll be able to help.

Thanks.

Hi - what stirlingmum says is true - depends where you are and what they have available. I worked in North Yorks for a little while, and some practices had their own counsellors, some referred on. That was nearly 3 years ago and of course things have changed again since then in terms of funding etc.

Some "private" counsellors will do a sort of scale of payment - I know that Relate certainly did do a sliding scale that if you could afford they asked a certain fee, but not so much if you couldn't (and may well have been free for some).

Best of luck with it

Thanks,

I'll see the doctor says. I'll also have a look at Relate.
