I've not posted here for a couple of months. I hope that some may remember me. I didn't post because I was too embarrassed about moaning all the time and not doing much about it. I felt as though people (online and in RL) were sick of hearing it and frustrated with me.

Anyway I'm posting today because I have something positive to report.

As advised here on this board, I did contact Womens Aid. I have been attending the Freedom Programme, which is a small group that teaches women about domestic abuse. I have had my eyes opened.

This morning I contacted Shelter. A nice lady told me that the woman at my local council who told me I couldn't get any help with housing was wrong. If I am suffering abuse they have a legal duty to help me and my children escape from it. She gave me a direct number for my councils Housing Needs Team and told me to push for an interview. So I did. I have an hour long interview on 10th April to see if I qualify for a Tenancy Start up scheme. I have a lady holding a flat for me for the next month until I get the deposit and months rent sorted out, and then we're gone!

Please everyone, keep everything crossed for me and my three girls!!! I'm so scared that I'm actually doing this!

I'm too new to remember you, but I admire your courage and wish you the very best in your new life.
