I can’t stand him any longer

Married for 18 years. Not helped me with mortgage payments for 10 years. Not helping with school fees either. Not putting money aside for pensions. In fact I had to lend him £1,000 recently.

we’re in holiday - my first week off in 9 months. I’m very tired and also lost my mum suddenly last year. Really need to rest.

He’s drunk too much, came to bed late, woke me up and then woke me up again an hour later to go to the loo. This is a regular occurrence as he doesn’t have to get up early in the morning.

I lost it - he hit me. Daughter (14) saw everything.

i don’t know what to do.

I’m so sorry you are going through this and for sad loss of your mum.

You must tell him to leave the family home. He must leave. Would he go willingly for sake of your daughter…? Will you report to police?

Then get legal advice asap and plan to divorce him.

sending you strength!

What an awful thing for you to go through and a terrible blueprint for your daughter for her future relationships.

I think you know what you need to do. If you need support the Freedom Programme is a very good resource and maybe you could contact Women's Aid.

He's a freeloader who hit you in front of your child. IMO your marriage is over. The best thing you can do is speak to a solicitor and start divorce proceedings.

I'm sorry for your loss and that you are going through this. Life will get better again but you need to take action. Sending you strength.

I am so sorry this has happened. First priority is your immediate safety - don't worry about what comes next right now. Is he still in the house, and are you? Are you ok physically, or do you need any medical treatment? Xxx

For your dds sake you need to report him to the police and get him to leave. There is no other alternative.

unbelievablescenes · 03/04/2024 08:05

He is bringing nothing to the table but burden and abuse. Time to cut this one loose! No way can you continue in a marriage where a 14 yo girl has witnessed this violence, you'd be negligent as a parent to do so. It's time to tell him to get out the holiday home and your actual home and get far away from him.

Thank you for your messages. Things are calmer here now and I’m safe. I’m working things out.
