Does curiosity kill the men?

I've seen lots of generalisations pop up online about mens inability to ask questions recently and honestly felt so relieved it wasn't aproblem my DP has. Today we were talking about time off throughout the year. He has all bank holidays off except for Good Friday as this is their busiest time. I asked if there was any incentive to working Good Friday such as an extra holiday day or more pay and he just said 'dunno'. I asked if he was going to ask about this and he said 'yeah can do'. Why isn't he bothered?? It drives me mad.

He might not really care. It’s just a day.

I must have finally lost it because I've read that post three times and I can't actually work out what the problem is.

Perhaps there isn't an incentive. Perhaps he isn't that bothered. I'm not sure what it's got to do with men not asking questions. Do men not ask questions? Why do you want him to know?

Pinkbonbon · 08/03/2024 05:16

That was him politely telling you he doesn't care.

And why would there be incentives for working good Friday? It's not Christmas. If he asked that at work they'll think he's a right dick.

So to be honest, his reply to you was probably rather well considered imo.

Reading back, it wasn't the greatest example. I just find myself constantly feeling amazed that he doesn't ask more questions! If there was a big exception to one of my working guidelines/rights, I'd want to check it was fair and I was compensated for it.

So he works one bank holiday a year. I don’t see any problem with that.
Dh will be working Good Friday and Easter Saturday. I’ll be working Easter Saturday.

Why would your assumption be that something was going to be unfair?

It’s part of his job role that he works good friends. He has always known this. He accepted it.
