Yup i'm 9 months into mine though and at that point starting to realise what a grade a cock he really is. Pining is awful, but trust me it DOES go away. It will. My story is plastered everywhere so i won't bore you with it, you can read my post history if you want to. You're doing great.

Mine was a good guy. I think the fault was mine and it sucks.

Don't blame yourself too much huh? It very likely is NOT all your fault. You may have had a part to play but it takes two to tango.

friendswiththemonstera · 12/02/2024 16:46

3 weeks in here. He dumped me over and over and eventually I stopped agreeing to take him back.

Unfortunately I think it was. Off the back of past hurt I didn't behave well. And I deeply regret that.

Well without knowing the whole story I can't comment too much, but what I will say is this:

You're a human being and it's ok to make mistakes. If you realise those mistakes and you realise that you've done some things that are unhealthy my advice is to get some counselling to talk it through.
When my relationship ended I cried and cried over it being my fault, and let's not beat around the bush I wasn't angelic and I did things I regret, but what matters is that you take those as lessons and learn to overcome them.

It's really easy to see a breakup as "all your fault" and I think that women are especially prone to thinking that it's all on them, it very rarely is. Honestly. Life is an arsehole sometimes and puts you through the mill so that you can come out better, and I have no doubt that you will.

Another thing is that intent matters so consider your behaviour and what your intent was with it. That will give you a good place to start seeking out solutions to things that you perceive you've done wrong.

Communication and he did.

Hello, I just broke up with my partner over communication problems as well. I wanted to know if you did anything to improve communication skills after breakup or did you just find someone you were more compatible with, or stay in your own company for a while?

Stayed single and have realised that he was not worth one single tear, not one single thought and certainly not any of the heartbreak he caused. The reality was he had discarded me for someone else in the end but made me feel like I was the one that was in the wrong. He was a total and utter asshole but he taught me many valuable lessons and one fundamental one being that I was always too good for him. I will never just settle again like I did with him. The communication issues were all him.

Good for tou. You sound very strong.

Believe me when I say that took time. Did not happen overnight. I am glad to be out the other side and now fully clear on how bad he was for my mental health. Wishing you strength x
