ED How to deal with this

We are me (40) and him (41), DH has had ED for the past 9 months, it seems to be getting worse where he either takes a while to become erect, loses his erection and very rarely ejaculates.
How do I approach him?

Has he had a medical check-up recently? I have a friend who was in a similar position and it turned out that her DH had an (easily remedied) heart problem.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! No he’s not had a health check, I could suggest this to him but it’s unlikely he’d want to go.

Do you happen to know what was the name of his heart condition, how it was remedied and if this improved the ED? My new DP is going through a similar situation :(

He needs to have a medical. It could be any number of things.

BelindaOkra · 02/05/2024 13:02

Diabetes can cause this as well

CheapThrillsMeanNothing · 02/05/2024 13:11

Your DH definitely needs to go to the doctor. ED can be a sign of impending heart problems or diabetes, even prostate cancer (possible but unlikely that at his age).
Also he needs to consider your feelings and needs too. Do you want to potentially spend the next 50 years with a man with ED who isn't prepared to do anything about it.
Does he want to miss out on penetrative sex for the rest of his life?
Unfortunately he's not alone in not being prepared to face up to embarrassment going to his GP or he's too lazy to.

Wakemeup17 · 02/05/2024 13:36

There's no other way than a trip to GP. Once the medical issues have been excluded, it's ED pills or a cock ring.

If it’s been going on for 9 months and is getting worse then really needs a trip to the GP, a number of medical issues can cause it as can stress and anxiety and he’s likely to be stressed even if not showing as it continues, occasional ED happens to lots of men, especially as they age but at 41, check it out
