Every single person in RL has just shrugged-am so peed off! Ex (who I am still madly in love with and am thinking he still has feelings for me but break up was sensible due to me relocating to the other side of the country for 4 years) has just invited me to go and see Muse at the Royal Albert Hall with him next month-he has paid for the hotel and train tickets (he was given the tickets for winning employee of the year)and invited me over all his friends and relations, many of whom would kill to go. We split up 6 months ago now-am I right in thinking there may still be feelings there? Would it be acceptable to try and seduce him just for one night? He isn't ready to move in with dd and I, which was why the split happened, but it was an amicable "lets see where we are in a few years" one, and I am so proud of him for admitting he wasn't ready, therefore would it be bad to break his will power? Am so desperate for a night of being without a dd, in a hotel room, with a guy (with MY guy-yes, I am still in the place where I am still his!), but on the other hand don't want to rip him to shreds!

I think you are right in thinking there are still feelings there (certainly on your part!), but would hold back on the "rip to shreds" if you want something more long term. Presumably you still see each other if you have a dd together, or have I got that wrong end of the stick? Go for it, see what happens...

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:06

Oh, this sounds so wrong, sorry! I meant I didn't want to rip him to shreds in an emotional way, I don't have the energy to do it in any other way! Sorry! And also met him after dd's dad left (had literally just had her when he went) so met him when she was one and we were together two years, but then I got a fab offer and so had to move

So he's only booked the one hotel room for you to share?

Sounds like a shag is on the cards.

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 23:07

Ok, so just go along and enjoy the night, you don't need to rip him to shreds in an emotional way! Just take it for what it is, a night out alone with a nam you like!

WinkyWinkola · 19/03/2008 23:08

You're proud of him for admitting he wasn't ready? Why is that then? You're proud of him for rejecting you and your child? Weird.

And he wants a romantic evening with you and to stay in a hotel afterwards? How lovely.

You'll enjoy the occasion. So will he. And you won't see him again for a while until he decides he's ready for another night of no strings passion. But if you're cool with that, then great.

Please don't be so flattered he's invited you over all his friends and relations. You sound like a very keen puppy.

I'd say no personally and make him work an awful lot harder for my attention.

Maybe your RL friends have a point?

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:08

That's the thing-I don't know what the hotel situation is and it is driving me mad! Am semi tempted to ask him!

well if you were a couple and he has invited you i would be astobished if he has booked spearte rooms

how far apart are you now couldnt you have had a long distance relationship

WinkyWinkola · 19/03/2008 23:10

Book your own hotel room. Then you have a bit of control over what you want to do that night. You might change your mind about him and at least you won't be stuck. Look after yourself and don't leave yourself vulnerable to someone else's decisions especially about where you sleep!

TotalChaos · 19/03/2008 23:11

Agree with Winky. If you're happy with a one off shag, then great, look forward to a nice weekend. But if you expect a rekindling of the relationship you may well be sorely disappointed.

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 23:13

If you just want a night of no-strings passion then go for it, but don't get your hopes up that this means anything more to him than that.

I do agree with willywonka in that you seem like a very keen puppy.

zippitippitoes · 19/03/2008 23:15

i like muse..i like invinvible

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:15

We're literally opposite ends of the country-he's N Yorks and I'm London-we tried for 6 months long distance but it got really stressful trying to fit it round caring for my mum and dd's access with her dad, and it wasn't what either of us wanted. We both end up working over a lot and some weekends so were exhausted! Good idea about booking my own room Winky. Am going to go along and really enjoy my night off-Muse are amazing live so will really enjoy myself whatever the outcome!

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 23:16

That's the spirit!

Muse are good live.

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:18

He he have got so giddy now! Haven't been to a gig for over 5 years (unless you count "guitar in the park-an homage to spanish guitar" (charity rain-soaked event where you could bring your own picnic!))

OP posts:
madamez · 19/03/2008 23:20

Can you cope with the possibility that a) he may not shag you b) he may shag you and then disappear again c) he may say something along the lines of how nice it is to be friends with you again but he is now madly in love with someone else?
You do sound like you're possibly setting yourself up for an awful crash of disappointment. He might get pissed and wet the bed or fart all night.

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 23:20

That's cool.

Where is it?

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 23:22

Yep you need to be ready for madamez's posibilities.

Don't go with any preconcieved expectations of how the night will pan out. You'll only be disapointed.

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:26

Eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww am seriously grossed out by the bed wetting! If he had someone else she may have been mentioned by now as we text each other almost every day (god this sounds so much weirder than it is I promise!) Have ended up sharing the same bed before at mutual friend's parties etc when I have been back home and we have not slept together, so am pretty aware that we probably won't, but it's still nice that he invited me I think-he obviously thought I needed a night off. It's at the Royal Albert Hall, oooooooooh
