Sexless marriage

So as a newbie here I thought I'd share my sorry tale of woe. Advice or thoughts sought. Am in my early 70s, married to wife, early 60's, for c13 years, together for over 25 years. No kids. Am fit and somewhat muscular and active, wife active. Both retired. No sex basically since marriage. No cheating for sure. Wife just has no desire. Have talked often but no movement. Out of options.

No sex for 13 years? And she’s not bothered? Are you? Are you still affectionate together eg kiss cuddle?

If you’re not happy and you’ve discussed it and nothing changes then your only options are to put up with it or leave. Which would you rather do?

No I don't like it. No real intimacy of any sort really. She has the money in this relationship so I am kinda stuck in that regard.

I think if it wasn't for the financial bind, I would err on the side of leaving, sad though it would be. I would much rather that some modicum of intimacy was offered. You know, small mercies, anything would be gratefully received...

I think some of my fellow women have a mental valve which convinces them that the sex "doesn't matter" when a relationship has matured.

This is compounded by the fact that the man pretends he's OK going without. Same when the sexes are reversed.

Problem is that the non-complainng parter, in reality, is likely to be hurting inside. It's very unlikely that both partners don't want sex.

When the neglected partner stops complaining it's very likely that they've given up. Over time plan B will kick in. This will be either a divorce or an affair. They are perfectly reasonable to choose either of these options.

The vows have already been broken by the whithholding partner.

Many menopausal women don’t want sex, this is normal. Have you discussed it with your wife? What does she say when you try and discuss it?
