Divorce settlement judge on my side

AmyJahabee · 19/01/2024 12:52

I just my first hearing and judge concluded and recommended that my ex husband should accept what I asked which is only £60000! He is worth almost a million.

judge recommended that he should give it to me and close the case. This is only recommended and he can go against it and continue with court.

what happens next, will he fight the case with another court case or provide .

what is your experience with this situation?

@AmyJahabee
Do you have a sollicitor yet?
Several of your previous threads have been you asking legal advice to people who (I assume mostly) don't have legal degrees.
It would be much better for you to see a sollicitor.

Every case is personal. We don't know your ex husband and can not predict what he will or won't do. Nobody can. Nor can we predict what the outcome of your case can be.
You should however be getting solid legal advice from a professional. Not a forum.

Bubbleohseven · 19/01/2024 14:45

What has your STBXH offered you?

fuckmyuteruslining · 19/01/2024 15:32

How can anybody answer this? It seems a ridiculously good deal for your ex but he can argue if he wants. My question would be why are you walking away with so little?

LaurieFairyCake · 19/01/2024 16:45

Why are you asking for so little, that's ridiculous!

Ffs get a SOLICITOR!🤦‍♀️

It’s a long story, they divorced 3 years ago. And it was a short marriage.

Tiddlywink222 · 19/01/2024 16:56

I have a legal degree and have done the Bar, have experience in Family Law and now at a solicitors firm - but there’s nowhere near enough info to comment

AllAroundMyCat · 19/01/2024 17:16

I think we need more information.

Are children involved?
How long were you married?

And yes , what does your solicitor say?

Josette77 · 19/01/2024 17:18

No kids?
Short marriage?
Own property together?

What's the situation?

The op was married for 6 years, no children, didn’t work during the marriage. Divorced 3 years ago,

Wow.

In that case he might fight the judgement or just pay it and be done with it all.

What is OP's situation now?.

Deafening · 19/01/2024 17:31

OP had a 7 and a 6 year old in June last year but they do not seem to be children of this marriage.
I think giving advice on this situation would be difficult as the situation is not clear.

Wadermellone · 19/01/2024 17:35

Why are we going through this again?

We don’t know what he will do next.

You don’t even know if you have kids or not. At one point during your story you met 10/11 years ago when you were 18. But also said it was 17 years ago. Sometimes you didn’t work at all. Sometimes part time. Sometimes in a new career that’s really well played. Sometimes worked in that career for years.

You have no idea if he is worth a million. Or in what way. Or if his ‘million’ is all in the communal pot.

You tell half a story that conflicts with another half. No one can help you or give you advice because you can’t only tell half truths.

Its all pointless

Once upon a time..........

AmyJahabee · 19/01/2024 19:28

Hello all,

I know all seem confusing with my other post.

for some of your sanity, separated with A 2015 and divorced 2020 , met B 2016 have two kids with him separated 2019.

My current situation single but dating so my other post might relate to my dating stories and so on.

ok now A has accepted my ask and will provide the funds, I requested so little as some have pointed no kids and I already have a house of my own mortgage free. From the judge point of view I’m entitled for more and my ask is very reasonable.

That still doesn’t make sense with the time lines your provided previously.

Not sure what your aim is. Go for more if you want more. Take it if you want to take it.
