Since experiencing childbirth do you find it hard to find sympathy for you DH/DP when they are in (so called) pain??

DH has had a toenail off today.

Granted it will have been painful and he does have a fear of needles but the way he is behaving is pathetic. Like he's had a whole limb taken off!

I had a tooth out a fortnight ago and life goes on, kids need feeding, clothing ect ...

Just get on with it!

I mumbled 'soft arse' to the nurse whilst he was having the needle in and she said 'oh well it is a tender area'

I almost blurted out 'Not as tender as your fanny and perinuem love, thats the worse place for needles!'

i personally think that men (xp especially)should be made to watch birthing videos and then to have refresher courses when they complain of manflu

i guess that would be no then?

Homebird8 · 18/03/2008 17:28

Offer him an epidural and see if that makes the point!

expatinscotland · 18/03/2008 17:29

Yes.

Sorry, but I don't put up with all that 'manflu' shit at all.

When the mother is ill, you don't see him taking off work to look after the kids and stuff.

So why do women put up with behaviour like that from men?

expatinscotland · 18/03/2008 17:29

FWIW, my husband isn't one of those candy-assed jessie boys, anyhow.

He takes pain like a man.

Disenchanted · 19/03/2008 11:07

My DH likes to think that Expat, but he is a jessie when it comes to needles

Even after being at all 4 births I still think mt DH thinks 'it can't be that bad'

When I was Pg with ds1 I wanted a natural birth, no drugs, nothing just to do it all myslef. I had an epidural in the end because ds1 was stuck.
Dh said "i knew you wouldn't be able to do it on your own"

Those word still ring in my ears nearly 9 yrs later.

Proved him f*cking wrong I had ds2 had home, with only 2yr old ds1 for company until the paramedics turned up 12 minutes before he was actully born, didn't i??

Then again wehn I had ds3 at home....

Oh and again when I only got about half a dozen luggs on the gas and air with ds4 horrific birth.

I do like to make a point

Me show him sympathy??

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
