Hello I’d been really keen to hear from anyone it’s helped, I want to enter into it positively.

Plus any tips for getting the most out of it!

I’m looking at emotionally focused therapy as we need to communicate better when we disagree and start having sex again post baby.

Use it as a way to see how you can change yourself to be a better partner, really listen to what your OH says and don't respond or judge.

You really have to trust the process and don't expect it to be everything at once. Also the counsellor will "assess" you, I remember she seemed harder on me than my husband but she later explained she felt he would have just not returned if she had been too probing at the start.

Also think about how many sessions you want; I know couples who have gone for years and barely communicate unless a counsellor is with them.

Definitely worth the money. I found it gave us a chance to voice how we both feel in a controlled environment rather than it getting heated at home. We used Relate.
