He’s cheated on me several times and then joined SLA and did step work so I took him back. But his life of no cheating and doing the right thing he seems to not enjoy. Obviously I’m not in amazing shape now and my skins acting up from pregnancy. I said the other day I don’t trust him and he flipped it round and said he doesn’t trust me. I said that Doesnt make sense and he said he doesn’t trust I’m a good person he thinks no one likes me. Then he said he’s not cheating but it doesn’t matter cause he doesn’t like me and ran with his stuff from the house we were living in, telling me I can keep the baby and he wants nothing to do with me and I’m not getting a penny from him. Why?

You should check out the Freedom Programme when you have some time, OP. And don't mind the people criticising you for getting pregnant, there's a lot of us who've had absolutely lovely children with complete arseholes

Then he's taken the trash out himself.

Shut the door firmly and don't open it to him again. You'll just get more of the same if you do.

This right here.

Don't have him back OP.

So he was awful about his ex, what stood out to make him look like a good father?

I've put his stuff in a bag and arranged for him to pick it up from outside my door and drop my keys through letterbox at 11. I told him it's ok for him not to be involved and I don't want anything from him but peace - to be left alone.
Feel super anxious

Fingers crossed he'll respect that.

Sometimes they like to change their tune as they're all about control and don't like that instead of kissing their arse, as they expected, you've just said 'fine, fair enough'.

But screw him. Don't answer the door to him. He knows the plan..if he doesn't stick to it, get your locks changed. Not to say that isn't worth doing anyway tbh incase he had the key copied.

Ahwhatthehell · 13/11/2023 13:14

Think you’ve dodged a bullet here op. Mightn’t feel like it now but you have.

All that bullshit about nobody liking you is just him justifying his leaving in his own head. Best form of defence is attack and all that.

SamphiretheTervosaurReturneth · 13/11/2023 13:18

When this has all died down and you feel safer, once you have changed your locks, after the baby is born perhaps, DO claim all he owes your child.

There is no rush. You can take your own time. But there is no reason why you shouldn't.

AbbeyGailsParty · 13/11/2023 17:13

Well done. Block him on everything as he’s quite likely to try wheedling his way back in when he’s outstayed his welcome on someone’s sofa.
Weak men always threaten to say things. They’re convinced they’ll be believed, 9/10 it’s a threat to stop you pursuing them for money. Talk to your midwives, tell them what’s going on. They’ll have seen it all before. Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy in peace and forget about the idiot.

mathanxiety · 13/11/2023 17:22

The question is why are you asking 'why?'
A follow up is 'what do you see in him?'

He's clearly a useless, abusive arsewipe.

This.

Well done.

Keep a key in the door until the locks are changed.

Ring 101 and log his abuse of you and that you are fearful of him.

Ask for a marker to be put on your address.

Do not under ANY circumstances allow him entry again.

Ignore threats of self harm and refer them to the police to sort out.

You mind YOU.
