Getting over crush on colleague

A bit embarrassed to admit this, but I fancy my manager. Nothing will come of this as we don’t even work in the same country and he’s leaving the team in new year. Nothing has physically happened nor am I physically attracted to him, I think I’m more attracted his personality and how easy he is to talk to. Albeit he’s likely only easy to get along with as he’s my manager and is trying to be supportive in a line manager function. Any advice on how to get over this?

Why do you need to get over it? You won’t be able to change how you feel anyway. Crushes can be harmless ways of getting through the day and getting you in touch with what you may be missing in life. Enjoy his company for the few weeks he has left with you, enjoy your fantasies, enjoy the way he makes you feel about yourself. God life is bloody dull enough without stamping out the one bit of sparkle in your day!

I agree with Nora.

Enjoy it for what it is just don't act on it

Crushes fade.

Well, is he single? Are you single? If yes, does he reciprocate?
if he is leaving to another department, you are both single and he is interested then why not give it a go?

This could be a bit of a blocker....

Depends which countries. If it’s US - UK too far. Bit what if you can get to each other’s country with an 1 hour flight? Inhave seen people making this work and eventually move to each other’s country.
