Jewellery?

I'm processing my own situation at the moment but I wanted to know what other people think

Would you be happy with your partner or husband buying jewellery for a female friend? Not expensive jewellery, just costume but still jewellery

As previous posters say, context is everything.

Costume for a long-time old friend - OK.

Real/expensive for somebody they have only known for a few weeks - not OK.

Real/expensive for a very old friend on a major birthday also OK (but at no other time).
