Is November a bad month to get married?

Settle a debate: Is November a bad month to get married?

My sister is getting married, and picked November 5th as her wedding date. Her MIL has decided this is a problem because “November is an unlucky marriage month” and if my sister and BIL get married then “they’re doomed to fail.”

I think this is absolutely ridiculous because it doesn’t matter what date a couple marries. If they’re doomed to fail, they’re doomed to fail. A date isn’t going to change that.

However everyone else my sister talks to seems to agree with her MIL. I googled it to see what these superstitions everyone is referring back to, but all I can find is how November marriages are positive and blessed.

So please, for the sake of my sister, can anyone tell me if November is a bad marriage month? Did any of you marry in November? Is all of this completely ridiculous like I’ve said 10000000 times???

(I can’t believe this is taking up my Sunday btw)

I'm marrying (well the ceremony, we have had our legal wedding) within a few days of your sister, Nob 2023.
Bollocks.
It's gonna be great, free bonfire night party AND cheaper venue etc as off peak.

I got married in November. We had a happy marriage (until he suddenly passed away from a heart attack). I now have two lovely children.

My friend got married in November and nobody thought it was unlucky. It was a lovely day - a bit chilly but bright and fresh. Nice not to be too hot as the bride/groom I reckon. And your sister will always have fireworks on her anniversary each year!

Yes the fireworks are so romantic!'

I loved going to a wedding in November as it's such a boring month normally and the couple are very strong and happy 😀

We married in November - it will be 43 years this year. He is my best friend and the light of my life.

My parents married in November and have been very happily married for over 50 years so certainly not unlucky. Also I married in February and winter weddings are great. Often dry and fresh I had a freezing but lovely bright sunny day. A work colleague had a summer wedding the following June and it poured rain all day and as others have said they are often months where nothing else is happening so people enjoy them more.

We got married in November 2020 - we’d been together for 12 years at that point and we are still very happy now. It was a beautiful day. Didn’t rain, the photos are beautiful and I look back on it fondly as one of the happiest days of my life.
