Gift for someone who did a favour?

DH’s aunty is an expert knitter and I asked her if she would knit a baby blanket for my best friend’s first baby. (Did toy with the idea of learning and trying myself but 9 months wouldn’t be long enough with my lack of skill set!)
I bought her the wool and she has made a blanket. I wondered if anyone had any ideas for a gift for her to thank her? DH thinks put £100 in a card but I don’t know if that is a bit crass? Advice gratefully received!

£100 is way too much!! If you bought the wool, and she's an expert knitter, and didn't mind then presumably it didn't take that long. I'd be thinking more along the lines of flowers & fizz or whatever her equivalent would be.

Depends a bit how intricate the pattern was / how long it took her, whether it was extra work as a favour or just her next project to have on the go etc. and of course what she likes… maybe something like an afternoon tea voucher or a nice plant rather than something obviously monetary (you’ve covered the cost of the wool) but depends if those are things she’d enjoy!

My Dnan was the most expert knitter.
She was genuinely chuffed with a photo of the baby with the shawl!

£100! Presumably it was a gift rather than you paying her? Nice bunch of flowers, bottle of fizz and a card with a photo of the baby and blanket.

Afternoon tea voucher and photo of baby in shawl. One of my Aunties friends knitted me the most beautiful 4 ply soft shawl for my dd. It must have taken her hours. I took the baby to see her once she was born and bought her flowers. She loved holding my baby.
