Me and my sibling both already had our suspicions and owing to a set of circumstances that have unfolded this week we have now pretty much confirmed one of our parents is having an affair. This isn’t the first time and the other parent chose to forgive last time. They’re also suspicious that there is something going on and now we know this to be true. We also know who the other person involved is and that they’re married too, they’re all in their 60s and 70s. What’s our next move? I think we have to tell other parent what we know but do we tell them about the other person? They’re bound to ask our opinion on what they should do and I just really don’t know what to say, it’s such an epic balls up.

Stay out of it. The messenger gets shot. Love can strike at any age, but divorce at 60/70 would be disastrous. They're all old enough to handle this themselves.

@Dillydollydingdong I agree and I have kept out of it thus far but the one having the affair had and accident this week and in their confused state they’ve basically dropped themselves in it so it’s kind of out of our hands. The other parent now strongly suspects and is seeking answers, we know the answers (I wish we didn’t) but I don’t know how to help beyond that. Affair parent has health condition and cannot live alone it’s all such a mess.
