How to let down friend I don't really want to keep meeting up with?

I have a 'mum friend' that I met when our DC's were babies. We used to meet when they were small, and had lots to talk about given we both had tiny babies. I don't think we ever set the world alight, in terms of a connection but we had a shared interest I guess. Fast forward over 2 years later, and I'm just not really feeling the friendship anymore.

She's a lovely person, but I find when I meet with her it feels a bit awkward and we don't have a lot to discuss. She's also a bit sensitive about her DCs development and a little bit competitive, plus she doesn't seem happy if I say my DC did or said something funny (and I never brag) it's like neither of us enjoy the meet up and at the end of each one, I usually feel relieved that surely she won't wanna meet up again anytime soon..

..Until I get a text again..

Do I need to be honest here? I feel awkward ignoring her, but I'm starting to find it odd that she wants to meet so much still. Maybe I am an awful person..

Anyone else had this?

Maybe try doing activity-type meet ups, like going to the cinema or a yoga class rather than coffee-type meet ups? It would give you something to chat about/something in common again. Seems a shame to ditch the friendship altogether if she's a nice person.

But if you're not feeling it at all, then I guess you could fade her out but putting her off when she invites you to meet up.
