How accurate is google location?

My husbands google location has been saying for the past 2 months that he has been at a hotel 1-3 times a week. I confronted my husband about this and his response was - (swearing blind) he’s never been there before, the hotel is only a field away from his work (in a rural area) so google location has been “glitching” I accepted this as i would never believe he would cheat or anything, however, since I confronted him about it (2 weeks ago) I’ve checked it everyday and it hasn’t “glitched” once and shows his work location. What do you think?

I've just checked mine, it claims I'm.in the garage not the house but that's fairly accurate - the garage is about 30 feet away

CharlotteStreetW1 · 23/03/2023 19:35

I'm next door apparently.

MooBaggage · 23/03/2023 19:37

I'm in a built up area at home on my wifi and google location says I'm a couple of roads away - definitely not accurate!

Get a tracking device. Or a PI. Or a divorce.

GlassBunion · 23/03/2023 19:44

So , why have you been tracking him for two months?

Tayegete · 23/03/2023 19:44

Can you check bank / credit card statements? We have completely joint finances so would be easy for me, although I know some couples don’t.

Eh, how is it the least of her worries? 😂

You can't say OP must sort out lack of trust before establishing the reason for the distrust.

Generally people trust their partners up until they have a reason not to. There are of course people who visit the ghosts of past relationships on current partners etc, but no reason to assume the OP is one such.

You seem more interested in driving OP crazy with distrust.

So much for understanding relationships and supporting women.

Yes, I'm the one who has made the OP track her husband's whereabouts for no reason for two months, it's all me. 😂

Surely finding out WHY she feels the need to do this is relevant.

Strange the glitch is fixed.

Even you think the OP is tracking her husband for no reason. And yet you encourage her to be concerned. 🤔 There is a name for people like you. Anyway back to your bridge.

category12 · 23/03/2023 20:53

@HoneyPotBee Don't be silly. Like the fact "it's all me" forcing OP to track her husband, the "for no reason" was sarcasm.

I have nowhere encouraged her to distrust him, I have asked her why she distrusts him.

I have a tracker on my campervan - the system supplies accurate GPS coordinates to Google who then match there position to the nearest property which routinely puts it 5 houses away even when it's parked on my driveway - I've quizzed the tracking company about this and they are adamant that it is a problem caused by the way Google's making services work.

larkstar · 23/03/2023 22:12

mapping not making!

larkstar · 23/03/2023 22:18

The tracking app also states this about the problem with Google mapping services.

I'm 12 feet from my location. But I'm using my own WiFi

Fromwetome · 23/03/2023 22:22

@Blingstar for the staff to give that information away is breaking the law...

I've had a situation where my son's phone keeps telling me he's left school when he hasn't. Shouldn't be a signal issue because we're in the middle of a city, and I believe he's not leaving school - not least because I called school and got someone from the office to check he was in class! (Also he's a good boy and it would be VERY out of character).

Every time it shows he's on a particular road not too far away. It happened daily for about two weeks, then stopped for months and has just started again.

So I'd say it's possible.
