my colleague at work is having a eally bad time with her dh and to be honest wants rid of him. Lots of issues which I won't go into but basically he is at home all day and spends most of it in bed. Hthe house is in her name and she has been payng all household bills more recently as he has not been working and so has had nothing to contribute. She now wants rid of him and has told him to start looking for somewhere else to live but he is either not bothered or isn't taking her seriously.
How would she start taking steps to get rid of him if he won't go of his own accord?

If the house is just in her name, surely she can have him evicted? Throw all his stuff on the street and call the police to have him removed.

Or go see a solicitor - most of them give a free hour..

If you're married, it doesn't matter if the house is in her name - he has rights to it, and can't just be evicted.

It sounds like he's depressed, to be honest ...
