Asking someone out at their workplace

Hi Mums, a Dad here asking for your thoughts.
Would appreciate some advice please.

I want to ask a few different women out, one is a receptionist at the gym, one works at a coffee shop and one works at McDonald's.

I have no trouble talking to women and think that they might be into me based on how they look at me however I don't know if it's a good idea to ask them while they are working (this is the only time I see them).

What do you guys think, should I ask and if so how would I go about it and what would I say, they are never alone they are always with colleagues.
Thanks

All those jobs involve smiling at customers, being chatty and friendly. If you are basing their attraction to you solely on the way they look at you, then there's a huge chance you are wrong.

Hitting on women at work is creepy imo. They're paid to be 'friendly', they are not paid to be hit on by random customers. There's also a reason their colleagues are also around - it's safety in numbers!

You shouldn’t.

No.

Definitely not. I wouldn’t even entertain it, unless you know them outside of their work.

No.

I say yes, ask them.

Just quietly ask them what time they finish and would they like to go for a drink. The worst they can do is say no thanks/married/not available.

But yeah, bear in mind customer facing roles do require a bit of acting nice to everyone.

Do you have any conversations beyond checking in, ordering, etc? I’d find it a bit weird if I was in their shoes and some guy who I recognised but didn’t really know suddenly asked me out.
