He said another womans name during sex

Should I be concerned about this?

I was giving him oral sex last night and he was really getting into it, and he said "Oh my God, Samantha!" then corrected himself like "Samantha?! What the fuck?!". I didn't think anything of it at the time and just said "Err... excuse me??" pretending to be offended. We then both just laughed and carried on.

It wasn't until after he left though that I got to thinking about it and jumped on social media trying to find if he works with a Samantha or not. Couldn't find anything.

I don't know whether I should be concerned about this or not? I don't feel massively worried but obviously still thinking about it enough to post! I did have a moment once where I had to catch myself before I said my ex's name. I certainly wasn't thinking about having sex with him, so I don't know why it nearly came out. Obviously though I have been intimate with my ex in a past life, but as far as I know, there has been no Samanthas in his dating history. It's not his ex wife's name and he was married to her for a long time.

Has anyone else experienced this where they or their partner has said the wrong name during intimacy?

Samantha is an older woman's name sin't it nowadays. How old is he?
I would guess he has been watching porn.

FlyingOverOrchid · 21/12/2022 09:23

Ouch! Yeah, he wasn’t thinking of you…

Hmm that's unfortunate Sad
Should I ask him about it?

Kudos to your skills @WinterEthos
Are you sure it was 'Samantha' and not something which sounds similar? You rarely hear that name these days but yes I also thought of Sex and the City!

Hellno44 · 21/12/2022 12:00

I think you need to use condoms and wouldn't assume exclusivity in this type of relationship.

However, this is exactly the type of relationship I'd have if my husband and i divorced

Don't think he's a big Sex and the City fan but you never know Grin It was definitely Samantha. He repeated it twice so no mistaking! I didn't think it was that much of an unusual name. I know a couple of Samanthas but they go by Sammy so who knows.

I wouldn't have let him leave without knowing where the name Samantha came from first. He obviously knows one, you don't just say random name when having sex..

Yes that's true, he must at least know someone by that name. I didn't really think much of it at the time. It wasn't until after he left, I was sitting there thinking "I wonder who Samantha could be??"

I'm sorry this has left you 'thinking'.

Question though, do people really use names when having Sex?

It just seems so weird to me. Though I find using peoples names directly in person weird too. Maybe it's just me.

ouch321 · 21/12/2022 12:43

Highly likely he's cheating esp if he said it twice!!

Lanty · 21/12/2022 12:53

@SkylightSkylight I never did, until I met my husband.

Sorry I just meant he said it once, then again in "Samantha?? Where did that come from???" sort of way.

Pineappleskies · 21/12/2022 14:26

It is surely much more likely that he was fantasising about someone than that he is cheating.

I came on to write this exact thing: never once said a name, seems so strange to me 😂😂

Does he have a sister?

No, he doesn't. Just a brother. Why? Blush

@Lanty Interesting.

I do hear people say things like the op. So I don't doubt some people do, I just wonder if it's common or not?

I just can't imagine doing it myself! Not their actual real proper name. But as I said, I'm weird about names anyway. But it just seems too strange to me 😂

Must be a few of us then. Thankfully I've only ever slept with non name people too. Sex & Life are funny things!!

Does he have a sister?

Why on Earth would you ask that? That would be seriously warped!!

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 21/12/2022 17:40

@SkylightSkylight warped it maybe, but it did happen to me.
Years ago, with an ex, we were in bed, not quite having sex but heading that way, he called me his sister's name, who was also my friend.

Very weird.

@Alwaysworryingoversomething that is indeed warped.

Had they had sex?

Did you ever find out why he called you his sisters name IN BED? 🤮

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 21/12/2022 23:13

I did not ever find out why @SkylightSkylight
I think it just became a joke between us.

I don't think he'd had sex with his sister Xmas Confused but who knows really...

motleymop · 22/12/2022 12:26

Did you ask him in the end, OP?

BCBird · 22/12/2022 12:45

Once my partner and I were getting intimate and he said his ex wife's name. He was horrified. I laughed. If u have been in a relationship with someine for over 25 yrs I think it can happen. I wasn't bothered.

Hawkins001 · 23/12/2022 07:16
