Hi all
Thats it really, have any of you read anything which helped you become single, strong and happy? I guess the over 50 bit isn't that important...but it is a worry to me 😞

I don’t have any specific suggestions but noticed no one has replied.

I quite like TED talks…. They’re very varied and the psychology-ish ones can give an interesting insight into why people think/act like they do… I find making things more fact based/less emotional can help me put perspective in life…. Also, quite like listening to podcasts at the gym, which in itself can be quite enlightening!

Im not sure if this is at all helpful but you’re only thinking about this while you’re thinking about it….. when you’re busy doing stuff, thinking about what to eat, thinking about catching a train, reading a book, chatting to friends, etc. you’re mind is full of other things. If you fill up on other stuff, maybe one day you’ll stop and think and the thoughts will be different.

The guardian does a weekly small article called a new start after 60, but older, but many different varied stories of how people had a change in circumstances and what they did.

I like a podcast called ‘Solo - the single person’s guide to a remarkable life.’ It’s by an American writer and academic and has some really interesting discussions and stories about single people. I haven’t loved every episode, but the majority of them are great and offer a different (and welcome) perspective.
