Mixed signals, is it worth pursuing?

As the title says, for a few weeks now I've had mixed signals from a guy I'm attracted to. I think he's attracted to me, but it gets confusing.

I see him almost every day, oftentimes in passing. When it's in passing he's always looking at me, visibly checking me out, and when we've made eye contact he's winked. However, when we have the time to talk he shuts down. I say hello, try ask him how he's doing/how his day is, and it's very short. I feel uncomfortable and back off. Then, I'd see him again in passing and the cycle continues.

Is it worth paying him any attention, and trying to pursue getting to know him better?

Be wary of strangers who wink at you. They're usually game-players.

If you're just interested in sex then it's all systems go but if you ultimately are looking for a relationship then proceed with caution.

When you talk to him you end up feeling uncomfortable?

Well, no, then. Don't pursue discomfort. Why would you? Find someone who puts a smile on your face from the off, not someone who has you confused before you've even had a conversation.

He sounds like he is already in a relationship.

hugefanofcheese · 02/11/2022 21:42

Sorry to be harsh but what's to pursue if he doesn't even seem interested in exchanging pleasantries? If he was keen he would pick up on your cues and have a chat, even if a bit awkward. Please don't be thinking he's nervous/ shy/ bowled over. He's confident enough to stare openly and wink.

He sounds like he is already in a relationship.

Or he's just not interested in op..?

Don't waste your thoughts on him.
Sounds like a time waster.
Next!

If someone is being like this with you, why are you waisting your time? move on

IsThereAPenOfIt · 02/11/2022 22:45

Perhaps he wants just sex. Perhaps he is trying to manipulate you into chasing him.
Perhaps he is frightened of women with actual lives and opinions and prefers to keep you as a sexual fantasy rather than having a conversation.

Dotcheck · 02/11/2022 22:46

The wink would be enough to put me off

crumbsneverdid · 02/11/2022 22:49

Two things:

  1. He's in a relationship He wants to flirt from a comfortable distance. He doesn't want to actually start anything.
  2. He gets the feeling you like him so he's encouraging it as an ego trip but doesn't want to actually start anything.

I'd blank him.

PonyPatter44 · 02/11/2022 22:55

If he makes you feel uncomfortable, thats the signal you need. This isn't the one for you. its fine to admire his looks etc, but you need to be quite stern with yourself and just keep reminding yourself that he actually isn't into you.

JustKittenAround · 03/11/2022 01:09

Nope!

You put in way more than most trying, he just isn’t into you. You gave him all the green lights but he’s just not pressing the gas. It’s a solid no. Anything more makes you look desperate and wanting which is universally unattractive. You shot your shot, time to move on.

@validnumber has it… NEXT!!!

Aprilx · 03/11/2022 01:52

No don’t pursue it further. The winking is just awful.

emptythelitterbox · 03/11/2022 02:07

He's made it pretty clear he's not interested.
Just ignore him going forward.

JustKittenAround · 03/11/2022 02:26

@anonymousliv Please ignore him. He was either noticing your interest and having some fun or he’s sniffed out your want

just because he obviously doesn’t want you doesn’t mean it should hurt your confidence. Women here can very much vibe with a great guy wanting them but not being interested…

Everyone here wants you to realize your value and to absolutely move on from your crush on this man.

Raise your bar, please. You deserve better.

Justcallmebebes · 03/11/2022 08:22

Not sure how you pursue someone who stonewalls you when you try to talk to him? He could just be naturally flirty but for whatever reason, has no interest in anything further
