Do slow burners ever work?

Pretty much as the title says.

Has anyone ever not particularly fancied / liked someone at the start but gave it a chance? Any success stories?

I feel bad as i always thought early stages should be heart eyes and teenage feeling and everyone deserves to be looked at as if they're the best thing in the world. Can it grow?

If you were originally friends it can be hard to cross that line. I remember being freaked out when kissing a friend after a date. I knew then it couldn’t happen if I’m honest. He sounds a bit to keen which may be making you step back more. Maybe try the kiss then you will have your answer!

I asked a similar question a couple of years ago OP and was told by someone it was a non starter because if I didn't fancy him everything about him would eventually irritate me. She was right and I ended it within a year. If you don't really desire him and the spark is important to you - let him go.

I work with the elderly and always ask those who've been married years (like 60 years) if they fancied eachother straight away. Interestingly, the men nearly always say yes and the women nearly always say, no, not at first. They often say they liked his mate at first!!

Ive concluded the answer is the fattest NO. Im repulsed and when i politely said im not in the space to meet somebody, we're friends aswell etc he became nasty. Gut was right 🥰👌🏼
