Broke up with ex and he's making my life hell

Hi everyone,

Really need some advice as I can't really take much more.
Background - we have a dd who's 5 and a ds who's 3.
To cut a long story short, I have had years of being put down, scrutinised, moaned at, agression, abuse and basically misery for 8 years. Something clicked back in February that I was done but it wasn't until last Tuesday that I finally pulled the plug. It blows my mind that he was surprised I broke
up with him despite years of telling him how I didn't like being treated the way I was! That just says everything about him.
He has been vile since. Absolutely vile. To be honest, I can take this because I'm strong enough to know that he is the one with severe issues and I am free from him. However, although we are not married (best decision I ever made) we do own a house together. Luckily, I am in a very strong financial position. I can afford to buy him out and keep the house (he will get a good pay out despite being in debt and letting me pay for everything for years). He is absolutely refusing to leave though and is saying that he won't let me buy him out. He says he will only sell the house, when he wants and he isn't going any time soon. He says it whilst smirking at me. It's his last bit of control.

My question is, if I am able to comfortably buy him out and keep the house, keep the children in their home near their schools and keep them as settled as possible, can a court order enforce this? I forgot to add that he cannot afford to buy me out under any circumstances. I am going to see a solicitor next week but just wondered if anyone else has been through this?

Thank you x x

Yes - it is possible to get a court order to force a sale / buy out. Your solicitor will be able to explain the details though.
