So, I’ve been thinking about contacting women’s after a couple of suggestions on here … just I guess to get some insight into my marriage, to maybe try understand things… oh I don’t know.
my problem is … I don’t even know how … I mean I know how, but I don’t know how to start it, what to ask, what to talk about, what to expect … the whole thing makes me so nervous. Like I’m being silly even reaching out to them.

Just after any Advice really or I don’t know, a push to do so.

Hi OP
If you've been thinking about it, then that's probably a sign that you should give them a call. If you're nervous, try the online chat function instead - that's what I did first, then was given contact details of my local women's aid and now speak with a support worker every couple of weeks or so.
In terms of what to speak about, just be honest...it's a confidential service, no judgement whatsoever. They'll give you advice, just be an objective listener. They're all trained so they know what to look/listen for and keep note of during phonecalls.
My first phonecall with a women's aid worker involved a risk assessment as well, so she asked questions about whether I was in any immediate risk of physical abuse, about any children involved, if financial abuse was an issue. The risk assessment actually helped in terms of what I discussed in that first phonecall.

Definitely give them a call though, it is tough, but so worth it!

It might be helpful to right a short script such as;
”Hi I’m hoping to get some advice about a relationship I’m in currently because I’m having some concerns about the way my partner treats me.”

hope that helps and hope you are ok.💐

Another option is local domestic abuse outreach team. My one is fab and means a consistent person to speak to.

In fact the womens aid line, which is now national DV hot line I think, sign posted me to them as second step.

Whatever you say, either typing via the online chat or phoning them, they’ll have heard it before. They will help you with appropriate questions.
“I need to leave my relationship/marriage. I need help “ is enough. Whoever you speak to will know where to go with that.
Good luck, no one should live in fear and misery, you deserve better. Tell yourself that every day.
