Severe emotional stress in pregnancy - impact?

Not only did DH leave, I also lost a close relative. My mental health is on the floor and has been literally throughout pregnancy. I feel physically in turmoil most days, tight stomach etc.

Im in contact with gp and midwives. But so worried about impact on the baby. Will they be stressed too? Will they develop ok? I’m 7 months now and it’s been this way the entire time, I’ve cried nearly everyday too.

I’m so sorry for your loss and what you’re going through. I had an extremely stressful pregnancy for various reasons. I had a stomach upset at 20 weeks and was convinced for the rest of the pregnancy that the baby would be disabled, no one could tell me different. I also got sacked at 8 months pregnant and found it very hard to cope. I now have the most smiley, happy, chilled, joyful little baby possible, everything was totally fine.
Obviously stress isn’t good for you but stressing about what it will do to the baby doesn’t help either (easier said than done, Au know) Babies are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. Can you do anything like yoga/meditation? I know it seems incredibly middle class but the breathing might actually help to focus you and calm you a bit. Best of luck x
