Can a relationship survive an affair?

Im not part of this saga but got me wondering if a relationship can survive an affair when they actually leave you for someone else.

Woman feels marriage is dead, has affair with another married man. Splits with husband who is devastated. Married man now won't leave wife. Woman alone again and wants husband back. Can it ever work?

Well I suppose the woman may have learnt some humility and realise that she's not all that and a bag of chips and may bring that back to the marriage if the husband decided to give it another go.

Some may say she would do it again but it can also go the other way where the woman becomes a paranoid mess thinking her husband is going to return the favour by scoping arround and finding a replacement.

Either way, mistrust and deceit enter the marriage, in my opinion it's doomed.
You just can't take people for granted like that.

I wonder if the wife knows in this scenario, or is she ignorant that her husband was about to leave her and did a U turn.

Childish behaviour all round.

@PiecesofFive oh she knew, everyone knew she had left the husband for the married man. Husband was filing for divorce. But now she's back with her tail between her legs after being dumped. I'm just surprised he took her back.

@PiecesofFive judging from them both, I doubt the husband would ever cheat but maybe quite a doornat

I've seen doormats change.
