Telł me your positive experiences please younger man older woman ... having a great time with a guy 12 years younger, nagging thoughts about appropriateness of the gap, he is totally cool with it.

Well I'm 10 years older than my husband. We've been married for 20 years. The age difference is nobodies business but yours.

arethereanyleftatall · 01/08/2022 22:07

That way round is fine if that's what you want. Many men in their thirties, those who don't want children, love older women who also don't want children.

Hotenoughtoburnasausage · 01/08/2022 22:10

I was 41 when I met dh 31..been married 7 years and have a dc..
I had dc already when we met. No issues with any of them and dh!

TFMinx · 01/08/2022 22:13

My grandma was 13 years older than my grandad; they adored each other, sadly he died way before his time.

A friend's parents have 18 years between them, married since forever and very happy and well suited Smile

Berlinlover · 01/08/2022 22:28

I’m 46 and my partner is 67, we’re together nearly two years and very happy.

Chocdiet21 · 03/08/2022 13:17

15 years difference here . I’m 47. We are engaged . Very happy . He seems a lot older for his age and I’m a lot younger . Works great

BreakerOfBras · 03/08/2022 13:21

13 years difference here - met when he was 20 and I was 33. No kids. Been together 4 years and both very very happy to be in each other's lives. I know it's the kind of age gap people on mn describe as "icky" or weird, but neither of us are remotely bothered by what others think.

dramalessllama · 03/08/2022 16:49

Fairly new r'ship - I'm 55, he's 33. We're having fun and neither of us care what others think.

hattie43 · 03/08/2022 16:59

As long as you are enjoying the relationship stop worrying what others think . It's not a huge gap anyway tbh . The only time I'd baulk is if there was a mahoosive gap like 55 v 19 and even then it would be none of my business

grannycake · 03/08/2022 17:12

7 yr gap between DH and me - married for 40 yrs

crosbystillsandmash · 03/08/2022 18:01

I'm 12 years older than my dh.
I'm currently in my 50s and he's still in his 30s, so the gap feels massive at the moment (if I really think about it 😂)

We've been together for 15 years, married for 8. I used to look considerably older than him but these days people hardly notice. I think men age quicker than women maybe and I do probably look quite young for my age, so we look closer in age these days.

I honestly very rarely think about the age difference, maybe only when we meet new people?
In the early days I was constantly thinking and worrying about it!!!

To be honest, I knew of a couple with that large of an age gap, although it was male 21, female 54, and divorced, I'm guessing it was purely physical, although I know some do fall in love too.

SorryButThatsAFact · 06/08/2022 16:55

15 years older than my partner. 27 and 42 when we got together. Been together 16 years. Age difference never been an issue.

Are you worried he might leave you to start a family with someone younger?

FuncaMunca · 06/08/2022 18:39

18 years difference here. Have been together for a long time and never had an issue with the age gap. We're just an ordinary grumpy old couple Smile

Rugbylover1 · 06/08/2022 18:40

I'm 11 years older than my DH and we've been together 18 years. Did have to take it slower than I probably wanted for a few years as he was too young to settle down really ( we met when he was 21) but I was just patient and knew it would work out
Otherwise you'd never even know there was a difference!

How did know it would work out, did you have a crystal ball?

BeanieTeen · 06/08/2022 19:06

I really don’t think age gaps are a big deal at that age. I think when someone is literally only just an adult, so 18 or 19 and the other is in their 30s or 40s that it’s a bit weird. Otherwise, if it’s two well established adults I don’t see what the problem is.
I’m in my 30s and have great friends in their mid twenties and also in their 40s and 50s - if you can be friends with people not your age I don’t see why you couldn’t be in a relationship either.
But if someone was in their 50s and great mates with someone who’s 18 - I think that would be strange, personally.

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/08/2022 19:31

What’s the problem with it??

But you didn't REALLY now you just got lucky... equally had it not worked out, your would be revising history....

Maggiesgirl · 06/08/2022 20:37

Third marriage, 1st one older man and violent, only lasted 4 years

2nd one same age he cheated after 3 years.

3rd, 10 years younger and coming up to 25 years together married for 22 of them. Wouldn't swap him for the world.

Runaround50 · 06/08/2022 21:17

@FuncaMunca who is older, you or your OH?
