Hi guys ..
I'm new here I look forward to chatting to you all.
I'm just wondering if anyone can give me advice on below its all fresh to me at moment and unsure what to do think ..

My husband and I are together 18 years 4 children together...
We very rarely get time alone together anymore with teens in the house that never sleep ..

My husband has been suffering with his mental health a few years now and has put on some weight this hasn't bothered me at all I try to help as much as I can motivated him to go gym etc I do everything and anything I can for him and my family without me doing it all I don't no what would happen ...
The thing is I seen on his phone today that a colleague he has worked with before has been texting him this is usualy the case few what's app groups having the laughs etc ..
I would never be worried concerned till today to see this lady texting him separately was fine till I seen he opened up to her about his mental health takingba bashing and is so fat he worries that's all everyone sees ...
She responded saying no she doesn't think this at all or anyone elce that she thinks of him as funny a tease and asked if he swims that will catch him for a swim when she's up this way ?
He didn't answer that question but should I be worried ??
He hasn't mentioned this at all to me ..
I don't no how I should approach this or how to be feeling 🤔 😞

This is a tough one. On one hand, it could be perfectly innocent and it's nice that he has a friend who he can confide in.

On the other hand, depending on who she is, this could easily be the start of an emotional affair.

It's too little to go on to really say. Do you know anything about her? Is she from work?

Cakeandcoffee93 · 27/07/2022 23:13

Op I think this is innocent- he’s just reaching out to a friend. Why don’t you go for a swim with him? He’s telling someone about his mental health and she’s trying to help- I don’t think there’s anything bad in it. Try do more things together? Or get him to go doctors and eating healthier as a family? Or book a holiday ?

Hi guys..
I don't no her or anything about her at all ...
I'm delighted he's talking to someone but in my head it should be me ...
We spend every day together and night he's also been to the doctors so that's not the prob ..
It has been really hard to even post that post and feeling bad that I'm.worryong about my marriage so much that it's bringing tears to my eyes everytime I think of it

Yeah!!

Well it might be innocent, but I’d be on your guard. My husband’s affair started when he “opened up” to a female colleague about his MH problems, then started seeking out her company, then she invited him to hers for “a drink”, then you can imagine what happened.

Sometimes it's easier to talk to someone who doesn't know you very well, than to a partner or family member.

I think it sounds innocent but there's nothing wrong with offering him to do more activities that might help his physical and mental health together

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 28/07/2022 12:15

With you offering, I mean.
