New girlfriend finding this hard

Please bear with me. I'm a recently divorced woman and this is my first lesbian relationship. I'm very fond of my girlfriend, naturally, been seeing each other about 6 weeks, but she finds it really hard to say goodbye.

We've had some lovely dates but when it comes to go home, she starts laying on the pressure for me to stay longer (for example, if I'm at hers).

I have commitments that she doesn't have - children, pets and elderly parents - so I think it's just she doesn't understand. I'm 15 years older than her, if it's relevant

I try and make her feel secure in my feelings for her and always have dates lined up to look forward to.

Any advice?

When we discuss it she apologises and says it won't taken again, but it does.

In a lesbian relationship too.
It could be the age gap that's the issue as she obviously wants to stay out longer and be with you. Just make clear you really like her but you have other things going on too. If she can't understand that maybe you aren't compatible 🙈

Thanks @Dollface213 Yes, it's the same whatever the relationship i guess, the different stages of life.

I do like her. Maybe I'll need to tell her that the neediness is a big turn off. I want to support her but I've got others relying on me. I guess it's taking on additional emotional baggage that I don't need.

6 weeks?? The clinginess is off putting surely? Ick!!

'Laying on the pressure' after 6 weeks? My advice would be to leave. How do you expect that to develop? It's just going to turn into controlling you, isn't it?

Don't date someone who makes you feel uncomfortable, otherwise you're just volunteering yourself to feel uncomfortable.

Thanks. Yes it's a bit too intense. I wonder if this is what she was like with her previous gfs.

But yes. I guess it's time to call an end to things which is a shame.

Lesbian relationships can be more intense but I'm the same as you that would put me off.
My first gf was like this but I was only 18 at the time and I didn't end it quick enough due to inexperience. I wouldn't stick around if that happened now. Everyone needs breathing space
