I opened a thread a few weeks ago about how to break up with someone you love, but it's not working.

Finally got the courage. He's just left.
I am heart broken. I really really loved him. And still do. But I know it's not going to work.

That's it really.

It hurts like fuck.

OutDamnedSpot
How long have you been with your partner?
I am trying to be strong, we work together and this is a small community, so I see him often and have to remind friendly. We were at an event last weekend and all was fine. But this weekend I feel lonely.

Only two years. He’s lovely, but we’re at totally different stages of our lives and I just can’t see how it would work longer term.

Have you spoken to him?
I told my ex several times how I felt, it helps when it eventually happens.

Hey, I just want to give you support for doing what you need to do. It’s tough ad hell, but so much less rough then plodding along with someone you know isn’t right.

i wish you happiness and I believe you are stronger than you know.

What a supportive, gentle thread. The steps you have taken really resonate OP - I'm in awe of your strength. It's so hard to end something that was once amazing and still is pretty good, though you know the future on offer isn't right for you. You've done so much of the hard work already. Keep going.

Thanks for the replies.
Today I feel better with being busy at work.
It is my PMS week so that doesn't help.
