“Hey, you!”- flirty?

I’m very attracted to a woman I know, and I have some sense she feels similarly though I can’t always be sure. Today when she say me she smiled and said “hey, you” and I definitely took it as being flirty.

Ive always felt when women say this especially when they know your name it has flirtatious connotations. Thoughts?

There was a thread about this a few months ago and many thought it was flirty but others thought it was normal, possibly a regional thing. It sounds flirty to me.

I hope not as I use it all the time 🤦🏼‍♀️

Not if it was followed with "get out of my garden"

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 15/07/2022 06:49

people say this when they’ve forgotten your name

Dery · 15/07/2022 08:09

Whether or not it’s flirty depends on the person doing it and the circumstances. By itself, it’s not enough for you to conclude she’s interested. But if you really like her, is there a reason why you can’t suggest a coffee or similar? You’ve got a better chance of finding out whether she’s interested and whether you enjoy each other’s company then.

I remember the previous thread about this and was surprised how many people considered it flirty.

Namechangeno25788 · 15/07/2022 08:16

I use it as a term of endearment/friendship affection, but happily married and not interested in anyone else so I’d say not flirty in itself.

ImAvingOops · 15/07/2022 08:19

It's friendly. Might be flirty depending on tone and other behaviours. I would err on the side of caution and not assume she's flirting with you. But it's definitely a sign she's pleased to see you
