Can I ask..out of morbid curiosity..what star sign you are?

shmookymoo · 19/05/2022 15:42

I'm kinda curious about..feelings.. and how private we all are about them.
I have some friends..who are the same..some not.
But the ones who feel the same are generally within the same same 3 starsigns..who feel as private as me.
I'm not judging anyone..I think talking is important.. but could only ever talk to a trusted few.
Can I ask..is it just different people??
Or...is personality involved..when posting your life pain..and problems ..and needing to talk to strangers?
I don't know..where I stand on it.
I judge no one.

Mary46 · 22/05/2022 19:55

Interesting that there have been a few of these threads recently.

Not many people are posting their moon signs, which describe your emotional response. Your "star sign" (actually sun sign) describes your identity and life force. Your moon sign describes your inner world, which is why so many people don't "feel" like their sun signs. If you want to know what yours is, go to astro.com and do your birth chart.

Your moon sign can also be very illuminating if you want to know about your own mother, childhood and attitude to mothering.
If you are a solar Gemini and a lunar Scorpio for example, you may be far more private and less inclined to share information than a solar-lunar Gemini would be.
MrsTerryPratchett But can you explain how we on Planet Earth are not in any way linked to the rest of the cosmos?

ElenaSt · 23/05/2022 09:25

Aries.

I have noticed that I don't get on well with Capricorn's.

ReadyToMoveIt · 23/05/2022 09:30

I’m Libra. No idea what DH or any of my friends are without looking it up (I know their birthdays of course, just not what star sign that corresponds to).
So that was no help to you whatsoever 😂

CockingASnook · 23/05/2022 09:32

The time at which you were born has no bearing on your personality. Zero.

I'm not the poster you asked but how exactly would the alignment of the stars at the time of your birth have any impact on your personality or dispositions?

FoiledByTheInsect · 23/05/2022 10:59

PailOfOdo Astrology explains energetic possibilities, not "fate" or certainty. It's a set of meanings ascribed by humans to planetary movements over many centuries and is obviously of no use or interest to people who want scientific facts and explanations. But for people who like pondering life's big questions, a birth chart can be a very helpful tool for self-understanding and self-development, and for better understanding other people by seeing what drives them.

Knifer · 23/05/2022 11:04

Very sociable, love to read, love to learn, chaotically disorganised but somehow manage to do everything on time, hate cleaning, good cook, loyal friend, love gossip, too forgiving, very protective of my loved ones, can't be arsed with dogs as they're too needy and high maintenance.

What sign do YOU think I am?

shmookymoo · 23/05/2022 15:29

Knifer, just a guess..but are you a Gemini?

OP posts:
KettrickenSmiled · 23/05/2022 15:44

I think the term you were after was "idle curiosity" OP - not "morbid curiosity".

It's not morbid to wonder about people's star sign.
Daft, illogical, & pointless - but not morbid.

KettrickenSmiled · 23/05/2022 15:46

shmookymoo · 19/05/2022 16:47

I think you guys are nuts.
I simply asked for your birthsign...no identifying information.
A completely hysterical and bunch of no sense answers.
I don't understand why a simple ask of star sign..decended into craziness.

It couldn't be connected with "ask a crazy question, get a crazy answer", could it?

Or that belief in 'star signs' is hysterical & without sense?

shmookymoo · 23/05/2022 15:29

Knifer, just a guess..but are you a Gemini?

I'll be interested to hear the answer to this. Because other than "very sociable" (which could be due to bad MH, I used to be sociable) @Knifer has described me. And I'm not a Gemini.

Knifer · 23/05/2022 16:26

Not a Gemini, no. I'm a capricorn!

shmookymoo · 23/05/2022 16:35

OK KettrickenSmiled..I get your point about my use of the word morbid.
I'll bet you feel smug and superior now!
With regards to hysterical beliefs, I have no idea how you have come to that conclusion.
Why is it crazy to ask someone their birthsign?
It's a simple question.

Thanks Knifer...and others..who have responded calmly and openly, without disparaging comments.

Not a Gemini, no. I'm a capricorn!

I'm not a Gemini or a Capricorn. But we appear to have a lot of the same traits. Make of that what you will.

StarTwins · 23/05/2022 16:47

I'm a Gemini and quite a typical one - journalist so nosey, like languages, pick up knowledge quickly - although I don't buy into the star sign thing - I just like reading about it! I am not at all private and couldn't care less who knows what about my life. Having said that I have changed my user name for this - contradictory, you see! Two faced!

catwithflowers · 23/05/2022 16:52

Taurus here

Love food, wine (and gin 😂)
Love home
Love gardens
A real home bird
A down to earth, old fashioned romantic

😊

ShowOfHands · 23/05/2022 16:54

It always surprises me how many people still have an interest in astrology these days. See also, soulmates, mediumship and guardian angels. I understand why it's comforting and people are drawn to understanding and to try and explain the world in meaningful ways. I enjoy the chaos, the arbitrary and random happenstance personally.

#teamfreewill

Not a clue what star sign I or any of my dc might be.

shmookymoo · 23/05/2022 16:54

StarTwins, that really made me laugh!
You've summed up what my post was about.
It was intended just for honest, light hearted response.
I can see that a lot of people don't think about birthsigns at all..and just like you, I'm inquisitive.

It's a simple question.

& yet you felt perfectly at liberty to throw the accusation of being "hysterical" at PP who disagree with you or think star signs are hokum.

It's crazy to ask someone their birthsign in the hopes that you can 'prove' it confirms some random personality traits.

shmookymoo · 23/05/2022 17:11

KettrickenSmiled, I didn't hope to prove random personality traits at all.
But if you think I'm crazy, that's absolutely fine.😁

SmileyClare · 23/05/2022 17:12

I have to agree with the previous poster. Morbid curiosity is a fascination with death.

Maybe lots of posters who are very "private" people who don't like to share aren't posting their star sign? This will skew your online research.

I personally think star signs are a load of rubbish and do not influence personality.
