My 18 month old didn't want to eat his last 2 spoons of weetabix and my boyfriend said (jokingly) that can't have a banana unless he finishes it and takes the bowl to feed him. My LO starts crying (he understands that food is going to be encouraged and doesn't want it). I abruptly tell him to stop it as I don't want him to have issues around breakfast as it's the only meal he'll always eat. Cue shouting (he said it wasn't shouting and I don't know what shouting is) that he is sick of being treated this way and some other stuff which I have forgotten because I keep replaying the next bit over and over.
He then throws the banana at me and I bat it away and it lands on the floor. He said he was throwing it to me and it was going over my head. It felt very different to me. We don't throw bananas at each other. It's was in an argument. I just can't see that there is a viewpoint of he was throwing it to me. Can you?
He left for work with us not speaking.
Also, just found out I'm pregnant again 3 days ago. Maybe I'm overreacting because I feel absolutely terrible.
