Go on then. What was your boyfriend/partner husband's 'reason' for having searched 'adultwork'..?

Sitting in bed with him a couple of days ago. On my fucking birthday of all days. He searched something up on his phone. Penulitimate search shown was adultwork which he quickly deleted when he saw it.

Apparently, a man at work told him it was a job site exclusively aimed at men in their 50s who were looking for a last career change before retirement.

It's a joke this guy plays all the time.

The other blokes an idiot, he was disgusted by it. Natch.

I told him that the joke/job thing is what all men say.

Been seeing him 6 months.

Yes the deception is what sets off that radar - I agree that’s far worse than being open/honest about it if there’s nothing to hide.

But playing devils advocate, maybe it was a knee jerk response because it wrongly seemed more innocuous than admitting curiosity.

But on the other hand, that’s pretty impressive as a quickly generated backstory; it’s unusual enough that it could be true, and I do know that some people would wind others up in this kind of way. I can believe that some would find this amusing in a “banter!” way and could be a well used joke to play on any highly naive men they encounter.

But I think he’d have to be quite naive to fall for it.

The lying is always the worst part as you then don’t know what is genuine or potential bollocks. It’s discombobulating and ruins any stable partnership.

Why do you think he’s unlikely to be looking seriously out of interest?
