Just this. I've tried medication from my gp, sertraline. It worked in making me so tired I couldn't be bothered. I still felt that angry stuff. I really cannot place it. I just have such angry feelings. I'm not an angry person, I usually let things go but recently I feel so absolutely angry!!! Will it pass? My life is okay, usual ups and downs with a partner of 20 years. It's not him, I feel rage, complete and utter rage at the most ridiculous of things. I honestly think I'm going mad.
The one thing I can say that makes it much worse is if I don't have space. OH coming into my space after a shower, OH touching me if I want to be alone, basically OH being near me when I feel so bloody angry and awful.

I took HRT when I hit the angry stage. Low dose but it did help. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with hormone positive breast cancer (both estrogen and progesterone) so had to come off it. I was expecting the worst but now I’m post menopausal I actually feel much better than I have done for years. Without the constant cycling of hormones my mood is calm and I have the patience of a saint.
HRT helps while you are going through menopause but once through it you can choose to stop.
Make sure that your GP does a full risk assessment with you. It’s not a wonder drug and to be honest HRT helped my moods but very little else. I still had insomnia, muscle and joint pain, vertigo and palpitations to name a few problems, but mood swings were the most debilitating so it was a life saver.
Despite the breast cancer I would still have taken HRT. The hormones probably just accelerated the growth of the tumour not necessarily caused it. It may have actually speeded up diagnosis. Who knows?
I suppose my message is that the “rage” doesn’t last forever and a short period of HRT may help you get through it.

Paris, I'd suggest starting your own thread on the Menopause board, as people are just replying the original first post from April.

Hope you get some helpful responses.

Yes to HRT helping with the menopausal rages.
First thing that improved for me was the hot flushes. That meant I got more sleep at night.
Second to improve was the vaginal soreness.
Third was the rage.
Fourth was the brain fog.
I still get the odd hot flush but hardly any other symptoms now.
