Quick - would you get ready for this old or assume I'm stood up ?

Been talking to a guy for a few days - arranged to meet tonight in a restaurant near me .
Heard nothing all day . Not replied to any messages or answered calls.
Table booked for 8.30.
He'd need to set off at 7 realistically to pick me up - he said he would but hasn't asked my address.
I've text asking if I should get ready or not or cancel and nothing .
This happened to me last weekend too with a different guy and I was stood up .
Do I assume he isn't coming .
Cancel and get pjs on ?
Or get ready and feel like a pillock when he doesn't show ?

Oh good Lord this sounds dreadful. I'm married but honestly if that ever changed I really couldn't be bothered with doing all this. What a dick. Like it takes two seconds to say sorry, not gonna happen.

Bollocks989 · 02/04/2022 19:55

Did you call him back after his call this morning?

arethereanyleftatall · 02/04/2022 20:02

@stillvicarinatutu

Just been on his WhatsApp to block and he changed his status to can't be bothered to speak to anyone who can't be bothered to speak to me I'd missed a call at 8.30 am - but he had missed mine last night ? So he's ignored me and stood me up cos I missed one call ? Jesus . This old thing has changed a bit !
Ah, see, there's one rule for them and a different one for us.

I was organising to meet someone last week, he couldn't do the two days I suggested, I couldn't do the two days he suggested, then he texts 'you don't seem that interested.'

stillvicarinatutu · 02/04/2022 20:06

Yeah I'd tried returning his call 4 x

He didn't answer .

🤷🏻‍♀️
Blocked anyway.

I don’t honestly believe it is meant to be this hard it’s exhausting. I’ve gone completely off the whole thing, literally swap numbers with two guys I meet in a bar last night they seem really nice they both know what I look like so they’ll be none of this shocked reaction when I turn up at the bar. And vice versa
Rainbowqueeen · 02/04/2022 21:01

Sounds married, looking for an ego boost, knows he can’t follow through and meet up bug wants it to be your fault hence the WhatsApp message
Wanker.

I think maybe catfish .

Reckoned he was a trader for a bank in London was very keen to tell me how much cash he had but was meant to meet for coffee yesterday and "lost " his bank card . Had to go back and cried off .

I’m assuming you’re older than 14, as is he? In which case changing his status is the most cringe thing I’ve ever read. My vagina would be dry af

Lucky escape if you’re not allowed to miss a phone call.

Dodged a bullet there OP. Join the OLD thread on MN. Loads of good advice and somewhere to have a good old moan and know it's not just you.
