Friend took pictures of garden 🌿🌿why are people so weird??

Last summer I had a weird friend who took some pictures of my garden
She basically smirked and took the picture when it was all overgrown
She also smirked the entire time she was in my little humble flat
Not sure who she was showing them to

Anyway I did the garden up and stopped speaking to her because of a few weird comments anyway and I just keep getting loads of flashbacks of her behaviour - why would someone do that?? Its so weird

Didn’t you ask her why she was taking pictures?

Trippingslippingx1 · 08/03/2022 11:59

I was too shocked tbh

She did it so she could show the pictures to mutual acquaintances and bitch and laugh about you behind your back.

Hoppinggreen · 08/03/2022 12:04

Well she’s a cow and/or you are paranoid
Who knows?

Badtasteflump · 08/03/2022 12:05

Flashbacks of her smirking and taking photos? My advice - onwards and upwards, forget her. And next time somebody starts doing something strange in your home, tell them no!

Not paranoid and this is sadly my instinct now too

Do not let her have one more second of your head space. If her life is so small she has time to do this then I pity her

Had a so called friend like that. Be glad you got rid of her as she sounds weird. You really don’t need people like that in your life.

Did you say anything or just disappear? She is beyond toxic and got weirder and weirder

@Ifeelgoodgoodgood

She did because she knew you would do nothing to stop her.
I actually agree with this and its a lesson learned in boundaries

Well done from learning from it and ditching her.

Trippingslippingx1 · 08/03/2022 17:15

Thanks @billy1966 it clearly was not easy for me if months later I am still thinking about it and having flashbacks. I am not a nasty person but I just had enough. The end messages were really the last straw for me. Her moaning about her man going to a wedding and hoping the newly married couple end in divorce. I was like 🤢🤢

If she was bitching about you for having an overgrown garden then she really needs to sort her life out. It's hardly the scandal of the century. Bitter, nasty thing to say about the wedding too but hopefully that shows you at least her smirking wasn't personal, she just doesn't sound the type to have a nice word for anyone.

jytdtysrht · 10/03/2022 21:21

She behaved terribly.
You are well rid.

But: learn from it. Don’t take shit from people. When she started taking photos, you should have said, “Stop taking photos of the garden - it isn’t done!” And I wouldn’t have even said please. I would have said it in a fairly even tone though.

Thehonestybox · 10/03/2022 21:21

Was she laughing and making a joke about it at the time? And saying things like "OMG this is so funny!"?

It might just be her sense of humour if so. A test for this is to see how she reacts when you make a joke about her. Gotta be careful not to be nasty, but if you text something equivalent of: "just remembering the time you poured me a G&T and only gave me a thimbleful of gin!", with a few laughing emojis, and then see what happens.

If she responds with laughing or then makes a joke back, it's just her sense of humour. If she gets snippy and defensive, you probably deserve nicer friends.

jytdtysrht · 10/03/2022 21:22

If she said she hoped someone got divorced, reply:

“Shit - that’s dark!”
