Background - stbexh left a few years ago. He was emotionally and financially abusive. We have DD who has really struggled with all of this.

We agreed to put the house up for sale and divorce. We are at the point of concluding the missives to complete the sale of the house. Me and DD have already moved out. Stbexh has now decided he won’t agree to the house saw if I don’t give him 1/2 my profits from the sale of the house as he has debt in his name from the time we were married. He also left me with debt in my name. Which I’m not contesting. I just want to be free from all the drama. My lawyer actually laughed at his request.

The constant drama is really effecting my mental and physical health. As I’m always worried about what he will do next.

Please tell me your positive stories about how life suddenly got better.
Or if you have some magical coping strategy to minimise the stress?

Have you seen your GP? If you're not already, some ADs could help you through this stressful period. If you're already on them, ask for your prescription to be reviewed.

Along with this, start giving yourself some self care. This will look different for everyone but for me it means
Meditating every morning
Cutting down on caffeine (improves my sleep)
Leaving the house/office at least once a day for fresh air. Ideally for some form of exercise but going to the shop counts if I don't have time for a walk!
Eating healthy food for at least one meal a day, plenty of fruit and veg
Keeping a physical list of gratitudes/achievements every day
Speaking to another adult every day for a check in on how I'm feeling. Not to have a massive rant every day but just a "hey, how are you getting on?" makes a lot of difference

None of this is a magic bullet - but it does help me cope when life throws shit in my direction.

Hope you feel better soon op 💐

I have just been given AD, so it will take a few weeks for them to kick in.

But the rest of your advise is great and made me realise that I’ve been living in purely In my emotions. I like your approach of almost a self care list! Thank you!
