Sex after baby

Sorry if this post is tmi but here it goes...
Well since our bundle of joy was born, my partner and I have only had sex two or three times but done the deed tonight as I was hesistant that we needed out of this rut!
With stress of having a young child, work, money worries, etc....we haven't had much time for us. I think the last time we went out was just on the cusp of the world going into lockdown!
Is it normal to get in a rut when you have a little one? I was beginning to have doubts about our relationship but I really do think we need to put some focus back on to us.
Any advice / experiences appreciated. TIA X

Yeah it's normal - unfortunately not talked about enough.... I see posts "DH and I only have sex once or twice a week since baby" - hah! So misleading!!

DH and I didn't have sex for probably 6-7 months after baby came along - sleep was just so much more important. We had a period of maybe weekly sex (before the toddler days)? Now! we've got a toddler and down to once monthly (with a lot of effort) and when we talk about it, we both agree we don't have the same sex drive right now, probably from tiredness. Plus, pandemic means we're always together, probably doesn't help with the mystery. I still feel completely romantically attracted to him (and him to me) but our sex drives are just so low ATM.

My advice, keep the lines of communication open, check in with each other, do "maintenance shags" at a frequency that works for you... and know that less sex after kids is so so common.
