If so… tell me what you’re like in a relationship. I’m finding myself to be overly independent, not very affectionate, well guarded, don’t show my feelings, just a right old tough nut but who really wants to be loved.

Me too. I actually spent a period of time setting a timer on my phone to remind me to text “love you” to my DH first, as he was often texting me those very words with me having to reply a very lame “love you more”.

If I hug him or reach out to hold his hand his words are always “that’s very affectionate for you”. I feel affectionate, I’m just not great at showing it.

To be fair, I am often influenced by giant balls of gas and have had to limit DP's sprout consumption.
